On April 23, 2018 USCIS announced their E-Verify Modernization Launch. The modernized system seeks to improve user experience, reduce errors, and increase the speed and accuracy of the employment eligibility verification process. The new improvements seek to:
- Enhance usability features to help users enter correct information and make E-Verify more user friendly;
- Streamline case creation and management to increase results speed and accuracy;
- Improve overall data integrity and system compliance; and
- Transfer case data to a new modernized database.
Some features of the new system include real-time feedback to help users quickly correct data entry errors; fewer steps to create or close a case, the ability to upload pictures of documents from a smartphone or tablet; alerts when data is entered that may lead to a TNC; and enhancements to security and accountability features.
Along with increased enhancements to the E-Verify system, USCIS also announced the launch of their new website, E-Verify.gov. E-Verify is a web-based system that allows enrolled employers to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
